With service seven days a week, Click-and-Ride is an option for anyone in Plymouth to catch a ride to work, appointments, visits with friends and family, shopping, or wherever else they need to go.

Click-and-Ride provides public transit service anywhere in Plymouth or Maple Grove, in addition to select locations outside the city of Plymouth, such as Ridgedale Center in Minnetonka, Colonial Square in Wayzata, Golden Valley Center, and businesses located in the area of Highway 55 and County Road 101 in Medina and Hamel. All rides to locations outside of Plymouth must begin or end at a location in Plymouth.

• Monday-Friday: 5 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
• Saturday: 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
• Sunday: 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Click-and-Ride is a shared ride service, therefore travel may not always be direct to the scheduled destination.

Advanced Booking

Riders are allowed to book rides up to 30 days in advance, unless no-show (see policies below) related restrictions are in place.

Customers can cancel a ride in the app or by speaking directly to a reservationist at 763-559-5057. 

Customers who need to cancel a scheduled ride should do so as soon as possible, but no later than one hour prior to the scheduled ride time. If a ride is cancelled within less than one hour of the scheduled ride time, it is considered a no-show (see policies below) and no refund will be issued. High-frequency ride cancelation will result in advance booking restrictions and may limit customer to same-day rides only.

An estimated pick-up window and drop off time will be given when passengers schedule a ride. Drivers try to arrive as close to the scheduled pickup time as possible. However, because Click-and-Ride is a shared public transit service, times cannot be guaranteed.

Scheduled rides may arrive within 15 minutes of the pickup time. The vehicle will be considered on-time if it arrives within 15 minutes early or late of the scheduled time. For example, if a ride is scheduled for 1 p.m. the vehicle should arrive between 12:45 p.m. and 1:15 p.m.

When a trip is scheduled and assigned to a bus, the rider will receive a text with scheduled pickup time. This is the time riders should be ready for the vehicle to arrive. The scheduled pickup time may or may not be the same as the requested pickup time. Trips will be scheduled based on vehicle availability in the area around the time of the request.

To accommodate as many trips as possible, Click-and-Ride scheduling will look one hour before, and one hour after a requested time for a vehicle in the area. For example, if an 8 a.m. pickup time is requested, scheduling will look for vehicles in the same area between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m.

Passengers are allowed three minutes to board the bus once it arrives. Following the three minutes, the bus will depart without the passenger, who will be considered a no-show (see policies below). If a customer missed the outgoing ride, but still needs the return ride, the customer must call Metrolink to let staff know the return ride is still needed.

If a vehicle arrives before the scheduled pick-up time, the three-minute clock begins at the scheduled pick-up time. Transfers to and from other transit services are allowed, including Metro Transit routes, Maple Grove’s MyRide and Metrolink fixed routes.

• No eating, smoking, alcohol or littering on public transit
• Beverages in covered containers are allowed on Metrolink buses
• Anything that interferes with safe operation of the vehicle is prohibited
• If a phone call is necessary, please keep the call short avoid disturbing fellow passengers
• Those who try to ride without paying a fare may be charged with a misdemeanor and fined $180

A no-show occurs when an individual schedules a ride and fails to use the service without sufficient cancellation notice. Failing to cancel a ride at least one hour before the scheduled pickup time is considered no-show and there will be no refund.

After a no-show, all rides booked for that day will be canceled, and another ride cannot be booked for 90 minutes from the time of the no-show. Three no-shows within 30 days will result in a suspension from service and termination of any standing orders. Longer suspensions will be instituted for repeat suspensions. All rides will remain suspended until the customer requests reactivation of the suspended account. Purpose

Plymouth Metrolink is committed to providing equitable and efficient transportation for all riders. To ensure service reliability and efficiency, we monitor booking patterns and may temporarily reduce booking privileges when a rider consistently misses trips or cancels them on short notice.

Booking Limitation Criteria

A rider’s booking privileges may be temporarily reduced if they meet the following threshold over a 30-day period:

• 40% or more of scheduled trips are either:
  • No-shows, or
  • Cancellations made within one hour of the scheduled pickup time.

Note: Plymouth Metrolink uses additional system criteria when determining restrictions. For example:

• Riders must book a minimum number of trips before being considered for review.
• Riders with a high volume of bookings may be restricted before reaching 40% if their behavior negatively impacts service reliability and efficiency.

Limitation Period and Terms

If restriction criteria are met, the rider will be placed under Booking Limitations for two (2) weeks.

During this time, the rider may:

• Hold a maximum of 2 active bookings at any one time
• Book trips only within the next 24 hours (same-day or next-day trips)

Ongoing Monitoring

Rider behavior is continuously monitored. If the rider continues to no-show or cancel trips within the 2-week limitation period, their restriction may continue beyond the initial 2 weeks.

Example: If a rider’s limitation begins on May 1 and ends on May 15, but they continue to miss rides during that time, a new restriction may begin on May 16, effectively extending the limitation.

Customers can expect to receive a response within two business days. If customer does not receive a response in two business days, customers should call Plymouth City Hall at 763-509-5000 and request to speak with a Plymouth Metrolink administrator.

Service animals: Service and/or therapy animals are always welcome. The animal must be under the control of the rider throughout the trip and while boarding and exiting. Drivers and other passengers may not control the animal at any time. Service animals may sit on the floor or in the rider’s lap. Service animals may not sit in a passenger seat.

Pets: Riders may bring a pet with them if there is space on the vehicle and the animal is properly caged.

One adult may bring up to three children on the bus. Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult or responsible party of at least 13 years of age.

Riders are allowed to bring aboard small packages and up to three bags of groceries that do not interfere with or jeopardize the safety of the passengers or driver. Drivers can refuse service to riders whose items present a safety hazard or cause inconvenience to other passengers. Drivers do not assist in carrying packages.

Drivers only provide assistance to passengers requiring the use of the wheelchair lift or boarding the bus, but not with getting to and from the door of their home or destination.

All riders using Plymouth Metrolink Click-and-Ride are required to wear a seat belt at all times while the vehicle is in motion, as Click-and-Ride vehicles are equipped with passenger seat belts and in accordance with Minnesota law.

All adult riders must wear a seat belt.

Children must be properly restrained in a seat belt or an appropriate child safety seat or booster seat based on their age, height, and weight, as required by Minnesota Statute 169.685.

The provision, proper use, and installation of any child safety seat or booster seat is the responsibility of the accompanying adult.

Transportation will not be provided to any rider who does not comply with these requirements or applicable state law.
