Place the following items in your recycling cart, or bring them to the city's Recycling Drop-Off Site

METAL FOOD AND BEVERAGE CANS  Rinse and leave on caps and lids - labels may be left on
           

GLASS BOTTLES AND JARS  Brown, green and clear bottles and jars - rinse and remove caps and lids

FOOD AND BEVERAGE CARTONS  Rinse and leave on caps

Milk

Juice

Soup and broth

Wine

 

PAPER

Mail, office and school papers (not shredded)

Magazines and catalogs

Newspapers and inserts

Phone books

Paperback books (no hard covers)

Cardboard (flattened)

Boxes: cereal, crackers, pasta, cake mixes, pop, beer, toothpaste and other toiletries, medications, and shoes

 

PLASTIC  rinse and leave on caps and lids
Bottles and jugs: water, soda, milk, juice, ketchup, salad dressing, dish soap, detergent, shampoo, soap, and lotion
Cups: yogurt, pudding, and fruit cups, clear disposable drinking cups

Containers: margarine, whipped cream, cottage cheese, produce (clear plastic only) and deli take-out (clear plastic only)

Batteries
Microwaveable food trays

Packaging for the refrigerator or freezer: butter, cream cheese, ice cream, frozen pizza and other frozen meals

Egg cartons made of cardboard or styrofoam
Tinfoil

Window glass
Mirrors
Light bulbs
Ceramics

Plastic landscaping pots of any size
Large plastic items:  storage boxes, laundry baskets, toys

Scrap metal
Aerosol cans

Clothing and Textile Recycling at Hennepin County Facility
Non-reusable clothes and linens are accepted at Hennepin County Drop-Off Facilities.  Clothes and textiles that can't be reused or donated can be recycled,  diverting these items from the garbage stream.
