Construction Projects
Public Works completes improvement projects to maintain and protect the city’s investment in the street, utility, and storm water system infrastructure. To view a list of current city construction projects and updates, visit the Project Spotlight webpage.
For a list of anticipated future projects, the City of Plymouth’s Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) is a plan for capital expenditures for the city’s streets, water system, sanitary sewer system, park system, water resources and public buildings. The CIP is reviewed and approved by the Plymouth City Council on a biannual basis.
An interactive map showing the location of Public Works projects included in the CIP is available on the CIP Dashboard. The CIP is a planning-level document and the scope and timing of the projects may change.
Special Assessments
Some public improvement projects include a special assessment, where benefiting property owners are assessed a portion of the cost of the improvement. Projects that typically include a special assessment are street improvement projects, such as street reconstruction, full-depth reclamation, and mill and overlay. Residents will be notified by mail if their property is proposed to be assessed for the cost of an improvement.
