Who can I contact if my child needs support or special accommodations?
Plymouth Parks and Recreation prides itself on providing quality programs and activities for people of all abilities. To create the best recreation experience for people with and without disabilities, we require a minimum of two weeks advance notice before the start of a recreation program or activity.
Without a two-week notice, Plymouth Parks and Recreation is not able to guarantee that individual requests can be met. If Plymouth Parks and Recreation cannot meet a given request due to short notice, the participant would be required to arrange for their own Personal Care Attendant (PCA).
Please contact Paul Pearson at ppearson@plymouthmn.gov or call 763-509-5228.
What if my child needs to take medication during day camp or has other health-related needs?
Please contact Paul Pearson at ppearson@plymouthmn.gov or call 763-509-5228 to discuss your child’s needs.
Is there any fee assistance available?
A limited amount of program assistance is available for those who qualify. The program assistance application can be found online. Call the Plymouth Parks and Recreation Department at 763-509-5200 with questions.

Cancellation Policy
Transfer requests and withdrawal/refund requests must be made no less than one full week prior to the first day. A $5 service fee is retained on each withdrawal/refund request. No refunds will be given for cancellations within a week of the start date.
Drop-off and Pick-up
Parents/guardians are required to sign their child in and out of the program each day. If your child is riding their bicycle or walking to and from the program, they need to have a signed permission slip.
Lunch and Snacks
Please pack a bag lunch, snacks and water bottle (no refrigeration available). Please label these items with your child’s name. Water fountains are available for refilling water bottles from home. Please refrain from packing nut-based snacks and foods as we have children in the program with nut allergies.
Weather
All sites have an indoor shelter/room space in the event of severe weather. S.P.A.R.K. will be held rain or shine. All sites are equipped with air conditioning.
S.P.A.R.K. Staff
All staff members are selected based on their education and experience working with children. They receive training with the city’s Parks and Recreation and Human Resources staff before working with children. All staff complete a background check before working in the program and having contact with children.
Children-to-Staff Ratio
The maximum ratio is 12 kids to every staff member and is generally more in the 8-10 kids per staff range. On field trips, staff will divide each site into smaller groups of 4-8 kids.
Will I receive additional information about the week(s) my child is enrolled in?
Yes! Look for an email the week before the first day of camp with additional information.
What if my child is sick or is unable to attend camp for another reason?
Please call the site cell phone number to let staff know.
What if I am placed on a waiting list?
Waiting lists are monitored closely and filled promptly when a spot opens. You will either receive an automated email offer when a spot opens up or a staff member will contact you by email to enroll in the class. You'll then have 24 hours to accept and pay before the next person on the waiting list will be notified.
What Should my Child Bring?
Extra clothes/layers, hat, sunscreen, swimsuit/towel, lunch and snacks, water bottle, backpack, and their S.P.A.R.K. t-shirt on field trip days.
