PROPOSED RENTAL LICENSE ORDINANCE AMENDMENT TO BE HEARD BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON DECEMBER 11, 2018 (proposed changes in red).
To help maintain the integrity of Plymouth’s rental housing, the city requires a rental dwelling license for all rental dwellings, single family through multi family. A rental dwelling license is valid for three years for one and two family dwellings and annually for all others. The city inspects apartment buildings annually, and all other residential housing every three years. The city verifies that the property is registered for occupancy and meets the standards set forth in Section 405 - Property Maintenance, Section 410 - Rental Licensing, and Section 960 - Public Peace and Safety of the city code for rental units.
The city adopts the 2012 Edition of the International Property Maintenance Code with amendments.
