2025 Photo Contest Rules
The Picture Plymouth Photo Contest is held each year. Whether it’s people at play, a treasured park, a new perspective on a familiar landmark or your photogenic pet – we want to see it.

- All photos must be taken in Plymouth.
- Entrants may submit up to five photos, with no more than three in any category.
- Photo submissions that are generated by AI will not be considered.
- The use of heavy filters or photo editing is discouraged.
- Please remove professional signatures and watermarks from submissions.
- Photos files should be between 1MB–3MB.
- Participants must have permission from any persons pictured in the photo to use that photo and permission of a parent in the case of minors. The magazine is not responsible for obtaining subject permissions. Subject permissions must be obtained before submitting photos to the photo contest.
- All entries must be submitted digitally via the Plymouth Magazine website at plymouthmag.com from July 1 to Aug. 31.
Categories and Prizes
Photo categories have been updated for the 2025 contest, and include:
- Abstract
- People
- Pets
- Places
- Seasons
- Wildlife
A Best in Show/ overall winner will also be selected. The overall winner will receive $100. Top picks in each category will receive $50. For complete contest rules, visit plymouthmag.com.
Readers’ Choice
Visit the Plymouth Magazine website mid-September to cast your vote for the readers’ choice winner.
Get Published
If you entered the contest, you may see your work in print – even if you did not win. Photos submitted to the contest will be used in city publicity, including city publications, the city website and city social media sites. Plymouth Magazine will also publish many of the photographs.
