Post Date:11/29/2025 6:14 p.m.

Photo of a plow truck clearing snow in PlymouthWith continued snowfall, full-city snow removal is set to begin at 12:01 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 30. Plymouth crews have been out since 3 p.m. Saturday clearing main and secondary roadways.

A snowfall of 2 inches or more prompts a snow emergency. While each snow event is unique, for a typical snowfall of 2 inches or more, city staff aims to have streets and cul-de-sacs cleared within nine hours after snow stops falling.

Please stay safe and drive carefully.

Seasonal Reminders

  • Parking is prohibited on city streets after a 2-inch snowfall. Parking may not resume on the street until it has been plowed curb-to-curb.
  • Keep garbage/recycling carts out of the street.
  • Remove items in the right-of-way (basketball hoops, landscaping and more) to prevent plow damage.
  • Help keep fire hydrants clear and remove snow from around mailboxes.
  • Wait to shovel until the street is plowed to mitigate duplicative shoveling.
  • It is illegal to shovel snow into the street.
  • Use salt wisely: One 12-ounce coffee mug of salt is enough to cover 10 sidewalk squares or a 20-foot driveway. Salt only works at temperatures above 15 degrees Fahrenheit.
