The City of Plymouth is set to hold the annual Kids Fest event 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21 at the Hilde Performance Center, 3500 Plymouth Blvd.
A summer carnival with a splash of learning, Kids Fest features inflatables, games and entertainment held on the Hilde stage and surrounding lawn. The event is free and open to the public.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase from food trucks at the event.
Activities and Attractions
Event activities and attractions include a STEAM Zone (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math), sponsor activities, face painting, balloons, inflatables, bounce houses and more.
Musical Entertainment Features Live Rock Band
Riffin’ Griffin, a Minneapolis-based rock band for children and families, will perform twice on the Hilde main stage during Kids Fest. With music inspired by power-pop bands like Weezer and riff-heavy bands like Muse, Riffin’ Griffin brings the excitement of an arena rock concert, but with family-friendly lyrics and lots of audience participation.
Free Entertainment Schedule
Entertainment schedule is as follows:
- 5-8 p.m. – Inflatables, vendor booths, STEAM zone, games and activities
- 5:15 p.m. – Riffin’ Griffin (Hilde main stage)
- 5:30 p.m. – Dazzlin’ Dave National Yo-Yo Master strolling entertainment
- 6:30 p.m. – Dazzlin’ Dave National Yo-Yo Master stage show (Hilde small stage)
- 6:45 p.m. – Riffin’ Griffin (Hilde main stage)
At press time, Kids Fest sponsors included All Energy Solar, First Class Plumbing, Gateway Fiber, Kyle Vitense State Farm and Plymouth Lions Club.
