Plymouth accepting applications for Ward 1 Council vacancy
The Plymouth City Council will accept applications through April 2 at 4:30 p.m. to fill a vacant City Council seat for Ward 1. The person appointed by the City Council will serve the remainder of the term, which runs through 2020.
The schedule for filling the vacant seat calls for the City Council to review applications and select finalists April 11. The City Council will interview finalists April 16. The appointee will be sworn in at the April 23 City Council meeting.
The Ward 1 vacancy was created by the resignation of Ward 1 Council Member Judy Johnson, who was appointed by Governor Tim Walz to serve on the Metropolitan Council, a regional planning board.
The Plymouth City Council holds its regular meetings at 7 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month. In addition, the City Council also holds numerous study sessions throughout the year.
