Gifts of Housekeeping, Handyman Services for Seniors Available for Purchase

Senior Community Services gift idea - housekeepingSenior Community Services is selling holiday gift packages for seniors – including housekeeping and handyman services. The services must be purchased for seniors ages 60 and older.

Housekeeping services include vacuuming, dusting, sweeping/mopping floors, cleaning the kitchen and bathrooms, and changing bed linens. Handyman services include changing light bulbs, installing grab bars, fixing leaky faucets, repairing running toilets, installing new faucet and light fixtures, checking carbon monoxide and smoke detectors, changing furnace filters, and hanging wall decorations and mirrors.

Purchase a housekeeping or handyman service package.

Senior Community Services, a nonprofit organization sponsored by the City of Plymouth, works to help struggling and low-income seniors remain independent in their own homes through its HOME (Household and Outside Maintenance for Elderly) program. Funds raised though the purchase of the service packages will support such programs.

HOME provides services through a network of dedicated staff and vetted independent contractors.
The service area for the HOME program includes the cities of Bloomington, Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, Crystal, Deephaven, Eden Prairie, Edina, Excelsior, Golden Valley, Greenwood, Hopkins, Long Lake, Maple Grove, Minnetonka, Minnetonka Beach, Mound, New Hope, Orono, Osseo, Plymouth, Richfield, Robbinsdale, Shorewood, Spring Park, St. Louis Park, Tonka Bay, Wayzata and Woodland.
