Tree Steward Class

Residents who enjoy the outdoors, love trees and are looking for a way to give back to the community are encouraged to become tree steward volunteers.

The city has partnered with Hennepin County and the University of Minnesota to offer a Tree Steward Class Saturday, April 13 at the Plymouth Maintenance Facility.

A combination of classroom instruction and hands-on, outdoor field experience, the class will cover the basics of tree biology and care, including tree identification, health, watering and pruning.

After completing the class, volunteers have opportunities to help plant and care for trees with the county and partnering organizations.

The class is open to the public and no experience is needed. All necessary tools and safety equipment will be provided.

Cost is $25, which includes a light breakfast and lunch.
