Open House: County Road 47 Corridor Study

County Road 47 corridor study map

The City of Plymouth, in partnership with Hennepin County, is conducting a study of the County Road 47 corridor in Plymouth – and is seeking feedback. The public is invited to share input at an open house Wednesday, March 13 at Wayzata Meadow Ridge Elementary School in Plymouth.

The open house will help gather input about the corridor, including feedback about residents’ experiences as bicyclists, pedestrians or motorists.

Background
Plymouth residents and motorists have shared a variety of concerns regarding County Road 47 in the last decade, including speed limits, a lack of pedestrian facilities, lack of turn lanes, and the need for improved intersections and pedestrian crossings.

Though County Road 47 is a Hennepin County roadway, the City of Plymouth is taking a proactive approach with a study of the entire corridor in 2019. The study will examine the east-west corridor from Northwest Boulevard to County Road 101 (Brockton Lane) near the Maple Grove border.

In addition to gathering input, the project will include a traffic study and drainage analysis, the preparation of a preferred layout for the corridor based on data and feedback, as well as an action plan for future short- and long-term improvements. The final report is anticipated to be finished in late summer/early fall of 2019.
