Plymouth READS: Book Discussions

Plymouth READS 2018 book "Locally Laid" by Lucie Amundsen

Plymouth READS has announced “Locally Laid” by Lucie Amundsen as its 2018 book selection. As part of this year's focus on local food and farming, the community is invited to join moderated discussions about the book.

Book discussions will be held as follows:

  • 2 p.m. Saturday, April 21 at the Plymouth Library
  • 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 24 at the Plymouth Library

A refreshingly humorous Minnesota memoir, the book tells of the Amundsens’ decision to build a pasture-raised chicken farm – without any prior agriculture experience. The sassy and engaging Amundsen maintains her humor even during tense moments. Beneath the whimsy is a poignant, thoughtful lesson in America’s food system.

About Plymouth READS
In its ninth year, Plymouth READS promotes public literacy and participation through an annual book selection, which the community is invited to read. Copies of this year’s book selection will be available at the Plymouth Library, 15700 36th Ave. N. More information.
