To ensure that fires are properly managed, the City of Plymouth requires a permit for open fires. You will need to get an open burning permit from the Plymouth Fire Department if you want to have any fire that exceeds 3’ x 3’ and is not classified as a recreational fire.
Open burn permits are required year-round. Allow at least two business days for your permit application to be processed. Once a permit is issued, it is only valid for one week and the permit only authorizes you to have fire during that time. The permit fee is $100.
Permits are issued at the Fire Department’s administrative office, located on the second floor of the Public Safety Building, 3400 Plymouth Blvd. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
