Established in 1960, the department continues to provide professional fire protection and emergency management services through a paid-on-call workforce operating from three fire stations.
The mission of the Plymouth Fire Department – making a difference through emergency response, customer service, and community education – is accomplished through our professionally delivered response, customer service and community outreach programs.
Emergency Response
Each year, the department responds to more than 1,400 calls, including all types of fires, emergencies, auto accidents, medicals and mutual aid calls to other communities. Department personnel receive more than 7,000 combined hours of training each year.
Customer Service
The Plymouth Fire Department strives to provide exceptional customer service to its residents through its emergency response and fire safety education.
Community Education
The Plymouth Fire Department offers an extensive public education program aimed at preventing fires. The
department also offers several programs to enhance safety and prevent injuries. Among the

department's most popular activities are its annual
fire prevention open house, the
Smokebusters program, car seat checkups, and the sale of low-cost bicycle helmets.
