The Plymouth Fire Department is a progressive, full-service, paid-on-call department that provides fire suppression, technical rescue, hazardous materials response and public education programs. Services are provided through a staffed station (duty crew) program and a traditional page-out system.

The department has an authorized strength of 78 paid-on-call firefighters, who work out of three strategically located fire stations, as well as a full-time fire chief, deputy fire chief, two fire captains, a fire safety technician, an office support representative and a part-time public safety education specialist. The city staff also includes two fire inspectors in the building division.

The department’s organizational chart (PDF) shows the structure of the department.
