The hiring process for new firefighter recruits is comprehensive and takes several months to complete. The 2017 hiring process is expected to begin in June. Please check back often for details when they become available.
Applicants are screened and interviewed and references are checked. Applicants then complete a Firefighter Physical Ability Test, attend a mandatory firefighter commitment meeting and complete a background investigation.
Once conditional offers are extended, successful candidates undergo pre-employment examinations including medical and drug screenings. Recruits who pass pre-employment examinations then begin orientation and training.
