Absentee Voting and Direct Balloting

Residents who wish to vote by direct balloting or absentee ballot for any election should follow the provisions below.

Direct Balloting (Early Voting)
A new option this year, direct balloting allows residents to vote in person up to a week early.

  • Direct balloting begins Nov. 1 for the Nov. 8 General Election

To vote early via direct balloting, voters must complete an application and vote in person at Plymouth City Hall during normal business hours. Direct ballots are fed through a tabulator machine – just like on Election Day, but without the use of absentee ballot envelopes.

Extended Hours: City Hall will be open extended hours for direct balloting:

  • General Election:
    8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday-Friday, Nov. 1-4
    8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5
    8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7

Absentee Ballots
Absentee ballots will be available 45 days prior to the election.

  • Nov. 8, 2016 General Election: Absentee ballots are available starting Sept. 23, 2016

You may vote by absentee ballot at City Hall beginning on the dates noted above. City Hall hours are Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. and Tuesdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Extended Hours: City Hall will be open extended hours for absentee voting:

  • General Election: 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5. City Hall will remain open until 5 p.m. Nov. 7.
