Plymouth Police to Host Night to Unite Planning Meeting May 15
The Plymouth Police Department will host a Night to Unite planning meeting 7 p.m. Monday, May 15 at the Public Safety Building, 3400 Plymouth Blvd.
The meeting will give neighborhood block party organizers the chance to gather ideas, ask questions and learn about successful Night to Unite events held in other neighborhoods.
Night to Unite is an annual crime prevention and community building event set for Tuesday, Aug. 1. Plymouth Police encourage neighbors to get to know one another at Night to Unite block parties and other gatherings.
Residents can register their Night to Unite block party at plymouthmn.gov/ntu. Block parties registered with the city may receive a visit from a fire truck, police squad or Plymouth City Council members.
Final Coordinators Meeting set for July 20
In addition to the May planning meeting, Plymouth Police will host a final coordinators meeting 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 20 for all block party organizers at the Plymouth Creek Center, 14800 34th Ave. N.
One representative from each party should attend the final meeting to pick up complimentary T-shirts and receive Night to Unite updates. The meeting will also include a drawing to determine which registered block parties will receive visits from Plymouth fire trucks.
Night to Unite Kickoff Event
Prior to participating in neighborhood block parties, residents are invited to attend a free Night to Unite Kickoff Event 2:30-4:30 p.m. Aug. 1 at the Plymouth Creek Center, 14800 34th Ave. N.
The event will showcase various facets of public safety, including a police K9, SWAT, North Memorial helicopter, fire trucks and a Hennepin County water rescue boat. Attendees can also view live safety demonstrations and enjoy games and free refreshments.
