Fire & Ice Cardboard Sled Contest in Plymouth

Fire & Ice is set for Feb. 3
Save the date for Fire & Ice Saturday, Feb. 3 on the frozen Parkers Lake. The free annual event features recycling bin races, snow bowling and games, ice skating, a bonfire, fireworks and more.

New Feature: Cardboard Sled Contest
Children are encouraged to create and decorate cardboard sleds and bring them to Fire & Ice to enter the contest. Prizes will be awarded in multiple age categories. View rules and information.

Special events bring the community together. The Parks and Recreation Department provides quality community events (PDF) for residents of all ages and interests. Partnerships with local businesses, civic groups and volunteers make these free or low cost events possible.

Plymouth Home Expo

Get ready for the growing season, visit exhibitors, attend presentations and shop for unique gardening tools and furnishings at the Plymouth Home Expo. Attendees can also gather up home improvement and landscaping ideas for upcoming projects.

The event is set for 6-9 p.m. Friday, April 7 and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 8 at the Plymouth Creek Center Fieldhouse, 14800 34th Ave. N., Plymouth. The event is free to attend.

Home Expo Feature
Hennepin County Fix-It Clinic:
9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 8. Fix broken household items at the free Hennepin County Fix-It Clinic, featured at the Home Expo.

Receive free guided assistance from volunteers with repair skills to disassemble, troubleshoot and fix items such as small household appliances, clothing, electronics, mobile devices and more. Fix-It Clinics teach valuable troubleshooting and basic repair skills, build community connections and reduce the number of repairable objects that are thrown in the trash.
